Station 02 – Good Monkey, Bad Monkey!

Which monkey bites, which doesn’t?

Decision trees are an easy-to-understand and relatively simple machine learning algorithm that can be used to illustrate supervised learning on large amounts of data. Based on training data, the students themselves create a decision tree to differentiate between biting and non-biting monkeys and then evaluate the quality of their model.

The accompanying material explains the process of supervised learning and the creation of decision models. The station is based on the good monkey-bad monkey game from AI Unplugged(www.aiunplugged.org). Instructions and Unplugged game materials for use in the classroom can be found on the above website under Activity 1.
